Seahawks Women's Basketball Places 4 On All-SCC South Team

Sophomore guard Andrea Lopez topped four Los Angeles Harbor College women's basketball players selected to the 2025-26 All-South Coast Conference South Division Team.

Making the All-SCC First Team, Lopez led the Seahawks in scoring this season at 14.3 points with averages also of 5.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Her 68 baskets from 3-point range were tied for second in the entire 11-team SCC while her 87.2 free throw percentage led the conference.

Freshman guard Kayla Scott also was chosen First Team after averaging 9.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.

Selected to the Second Team were sophomore guard Zoe Anderson (8.1 ppg, 4 assists average) and frosh guard Zakirah Bruce (8.9 points, 5.1 rebounds).

LA Harbor made a major turnaround after it lost 24 games last season. Under head coach Jason Jaramillo who had his first opportunity to recruit after being hired late last season, the Seahawks finished 13-15 overall and fourth place in the SCC South at 5-5.

They were just a half game behind co-second place squads in Compton and LA Southwest, two teams that were unable to play their finale due to unsafe playing conditions at Compton. Each were 5-4 in the division.

The Seahawks had their best season since the '22-23 campaign when they were 16-12 overall.

Harbor closed this year in a flourish as it won its final three games in SCC play, defeating Cerritos, Compton and El Camino. They won rematches v. both Compton and El Camino after losing to both in the first round of South Division play.

Thirteen of the Seahawks games were played against eventual SoCal Region playoff teams, including a 92-78 victory on Dec. 31 against Fullerton. The #23-seed Hornets have since advanced to the Second Round of Regionals after they upset #10 seed Santa Barbara City on Wednesday.
