Harbor Men's Basketball Season Recap: Anopueme All-SCC South Selection

Sophomore guard Ijezie Anopueme was an All-South Coast Conference First Team selection to highlight the Los Angeles Harbor College men's basketball season.

The Seahawks (8-20 overall) placed in a tie for third place in the SCC South Division with Long Beach.

Some of the team's notable wins were a pair of 100-point plus scoring efforts in two division games against El Camino as well as a hard-fought 96-92 triumph over Long Beach on Coaches v. Cancer Night on Feb. 5.

Anopueme, a 6-foot-2 talent from LA Premier Prep, averaged 13.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game as the lone Harbor choice for First Team. He scored 30 points in a win over Imperial Valley and posted a season-high 31 in a loss to LA Trade-Tech.

Making All-SCC honorable mentions were sophomore guard Chase Nelson and freshman guard/forward Laron Tunupopo.

Nelson averaged 10 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals while Tunupopo tallied 6.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals.

Harbor was once again directed by long-time head coach Tony Carter-Loza, a 3-time SCC Coach of the Year in 2011, 2014 and 2023--all conference championship seasons for the Seahawks.
